The issue of gender, race and how it effects negotiation I think is timely given the current social climate. We are in an election year and in case you haven't heard Obama and Hillary Clinton are both campaigning for president. Do you think one or the other will be able to negotiate their way into the White House for the next four years?
Article two from our assignment highlights what I feel we all give light to in our daily lives or ignore all together, the history of race and gender in this country. " It is not something we shouldn't run away from , disregard, or worse, pretend doesn't exist, for when we do we only delay the inevitable debate." It'll be interesting to see who becomes our new leader.

Hi Kristina,

Great blog so far! Appreciate all of your posts and reports on the assignments.

Re our next leader, you bring up excellent questions and points. Very hard to predict at this early stage but, yes, I think voters are certainly ready to vote Obama or Hillary into the White House. I think we're going to see the Democrats win this election because of so much anti-Bush sentiment.

It will be very interesting to see how the election play out. Who do you think will win?

You pose an interesting question Dr. D. I would like to think we've come far enough that a black man or a woman could win the race for the White House, but I'm not that disillusioned. I just don't think America is ready. Personally I don't care who wins as long as their better suited for the job than George W. I'll tell you this who ever gets the job is going to have a heck of a mess to clean up that's for sure. The expectations for the next president will be incredibly high and the American voters are going to demand results. I hope the person that takes this job has the guts to bring our troops home, this is a battle we can't win.

Here's a question for you how do we negotiate with someone's belief system?
